Retired Staff Sergeant Jaime Navarro Delcastillo was born on April 17th, 1946 in Cavite City, Philippines to a father, who was a skilled tailor/mechanic/ chef, and to a mother, who was gracious homemaker. He grew up with one older brother and younger sister. He attended most of his academic career in the Philippines before emigrating to the United States with his older brother and parents. Mr. Delcastillo worked for the Philippine Airlines to support his growing family prior to enlisting in the Army in 1978. With hopes for a better future for his family, Mr. Delcastillo served in the Army for twenty years to support his family. Upon retiring from his dedicated service with the Army, he went on to work for the United States Postal Service in Fairbanks, Alaska. With the lasting memories and experiences (both, good and bad) that Mr. Delcastillo modestly discloses during the interview, he is happily retired in Anaheim, California with the love of his life, and continues to be an active, loving father to his five children along with twelve grandchildren.
